The Fangwilds
Our game takes place in on an alternate-universe world called the Fangwilds. Think of this world like a mix of the Feywild from DnD, the spirit world from The Last Airbender, and Pandora from James Cameron's Avatar universe. The Fangwilds is an alternate universe full of magic. The environment is overflowing with nature, bioluminescent plants and animals, extinct creatures, mega-fauna, powerful spirits, and deities; as well as all manner of fantasy creatures, such as dragons and unicorns. Players are encouraged to imagine fantastical, expansive environments.

Our game-world is dominated by various species of intelligent canine, feline, and hyena.

Humans and humanoid creatures (elves, dwarves, etc) have never existed in the Fangwilds. Humans may exist in your character's backstory only if the character has come from outside our universe (please make it clear that the character is from a different world if you mention humans in your backstory).
ARRIVING

Characters may be a native born within our game world or a traveller who has arrived here by any traditional or magical methods (ie travelling on foot, flying, arriving on a boat, washing up on shore, falling through a mysterious portal, etc). Characters may even come from other universes. Please be clear in your backstory how your character arrived.

TERRITORIES & SUB-LOCATIONS
Territories are large areas of claimable land, each containing 3 sub-locations. Each territory is surrounded by an area of non-claimable border land, to allow visitors or travellers to approach the territory without trespassing. If a thread is in the unclaimable border area, simply choose the closest sub-location and specify at the start of the thread that it is outside the territory border.
TRAVELLING

Threads in different territories should not happen on the same day. Travelling several territories away will take multiple days. Territories are roughly 45 square miles. Each sub-location is roughly 15 square miles. It takes roughly 1 day of constant travel to move through a territory, or about 8 hours of constant travel to move through a sub-location.

Characters travel using traditional means: on foot, flying, swimming, etc. Travelling takes time and players should be mindful of their timeline when joining or starting threads in different territories.

AFFECTING THE ENVIRONMENT

Characters are limited to affecting an area within line-of-sight or shouting distance. Characters can not create permanent drastic changes to the landscape that would require a change to the official description of the area (ie building a massive castle or a wall around an entire territory) but they can make small structures, such as building a hut to use as a den, tilling a small farm plot or garden, planting a flowerbed, etc.

We encourage players to have fun and be creative with the environment.

FLORA AND FAUNA
All manner of living, extinct, realistic, or fantasy / mythological creatures exist in the environment. Animals native to a specific biome will be more common in an area with a matching biome (ie polar bears in an arctic region or antelope in a savanna); however any animal may be found in any territory. Plants may be realistic or fantasy in nature and may grow at unusual sizes.
DEITIES & RELIGION

Characters can have any religion the player chooses or no religion at all. Characters can have different beliefs of how the world was created, how it functions, where magic comes from, nature, etc. These beliefs can be good sources for plots and interactions with other characters.

Deities, demigods, spirits, and other supernatural beings are common-place in our world. Players are free to use and interact with these beings (observing, interacting, playing with the NPC account, etc) — so long as it does not unfairly impact another player (ie it would not be okay for a deity to appear during a rank challenge to strike down an opponent).
