Dice Rolls
To keep things fair, we use dice and stat points to determine if certain actions are successful. Dice only determine if an action is successful, not how powerful abilities are - so players are free to describe their abilities however they desire. We have a built-in dice-roller so you don’t have to calculate anything. A d20 (twenty-sided dice) is rolled, then the character's stat modifier is added to the roll. A total of 11 or higher is successful.

What should be dice-rolled?
  • Actions during combat
  • Actions that damage, injure, impede, or affect other characters
  • Actions that give your character an advantage, including secret or hidden actions

How to Dice-roll:
  • Character A writes their post attempting an action or effect.
(include available / remaining health at the end of the post)
  • Check-mark “Add Dice-roll” at the bottom of the post.
  • Check-mark any dice-rolls you’d like to use.
  • Select your character's stat level based on the skills they are using
(if their level was affected by a spell or other effect, adjust the # as necessary)
  • Click submit.
  • Results are automatically posted.
  • Character B can see the results.
  • Character B reacts and repeats the above process.

What happens on a Failed dice-roll?
  • The action is not successful.
  • The other character is free to interpret how they want (within reason), such as saying that they dodged or blocked the action, etc. Depending on the situation, a failed roll could mean that the action just doesn't happen at all. Example: a failed roll while using Telepathy.

Cool-Downs and Restrictions
  • Characters may make 2 dice-rolls per post.
  • A dice-roll can only damage or heal for 1 health, dodge 1 incoming attack, or cause 1 effect.
  • A dice-roll can only target 1 character.
  • A specific spell cannot be used twice in one post.
  • A specific spell cannot be used 2 posts in a row.

Loner Dice-roll Penalty
The life of a loner is one of struggle and hardship. Loners are constantly on the move and don't have the ability to stockpile resources. They face additional dangers without the support of a Faction.

Loners always have a -1 penalty to all dice-rolls for being under-fed / unable to store resources. Even if a character is temporarily a loner: if they make a dice-roll while they are a loner, they have to take the penalty. Please factor in the -1 when dice-rolling.
